From the flagship DVD-5910 and DVD-3910 with connectivity options including DVI and HDMI, Denon Link and RS-232, to the high-performance, high-value DVD-2910, to the affordable yet feature-rich new DVD-1920 and DVD-1720 units, all Denon DVD players are designed to be ideal for the custom installation marketplace and reflect the company’s new corporate mantra, Power. Precision. Passion. Performance.

According to Jeff Talmadge, Denon Marketing Manager: “In many ways, the DVD player has assumed the role of ‘Most Valuable Player’ in today’s total home entertainment systems, serving as the content source for both advanced digital video and audio formats. To satisfy the demands of today’s discriminating consumers, we’re making some of our most advanced features and technologies available in models throughout our DVD line. This trickle-down of advanced technologies from our top-of-the-line players to even our newest entry-level model means that more of our customers will now be able to afford state-of-the-art DVD enjoyment.”

DVD-1920: Universal DVD Player Performance at an Attractive New Price Point
Available in either black or silver, the universal DVD-1920 is a perfect example of how Denon is bringing some of todays most sophisticated DVD features and technologies to attractive new price points. In addition to providing high-performance SACD and DVD-Audio playback, the DVD-1920 incorporates a wealth of advanced technologies and features. The Faroudja FLI2301 DCDi chipset, for instance, provides image-enhancement technologies such as improved Film Mode, 3:2 pulldown detection and de-interlacing, and five Progressive Mode memory settings that enable viewers to fine-tune picture quality to their particular preference. The result is remarkably clear, high-resolution image quality free from picture artifacts.

The DVD-1920’s advanced HDMI 1.1 interface ensures that all digital video signals are fed directly to display devices without any degradation in digital purity or quality. Additional audio/video enhancements include discrete interlaced and progressive video D/A converters and high performance Burr Brown Audio DACs. Finally, Denon’s D.D.V.C. (Dual Discrete Video Circuit) adds to the DVD1920’s superior image reproduction capabilities, and remote I/O ports add to its flexibility in integrated home entertainment systems

DVD-1720: High-End Features in a High-Value Product
Like the DVD-1920, Denon’s new budget-priced DVD-1720 features a 10-bit video 54MHz video D/A converter and Burr Brown Audio DACs and five Progressive Mode memory settings. It also includes a laundry list of standard outputs including composite, S-Video, component, coaxial and optical digital outputs to give users and their display devices choices when including the DVD-1720.

Both the DVD-1920 and the DVD-1720 also feature Picture Mode adjustments including 4:3 Aspect Ratio Squeeze & Zoom for 480p output as well as WMA (Windows Media Audio) playback capability. And like all Denon universal DVD players, they also include convenience functions such as Kodak and Fuji Picture CD compatibility and a JPEG photo file viewer.

The DVD-1720, DVD-1920, DVD-2910, DVD-3910 and DVD-5910 are all currently available.
