To showcase its flexibility and its unique value as the ideal home theater solution for a secondary or tertiary system, the S-301 system will be installed and controlled via a Crestron remote control system, utilizing its RS-232C control port. The two Denon 2.1-channel surround sound DVD home theater systems, Models S-301 (SRP: $1,599) and S-101 (SRP: $999) are the world’s first home entertainment products to provide simple, convenient connectivity and control of today’s portable digital music devices, including the popular Apple iPod series of portable players. In addition, the S-301 includes a front-panel USB port that lets users easily connect with other popular portable MP3 players, as well as USB Flash memory devices; both units also provide an analog input to accommodate all makes of portable devices. Designed as total high-performance home theater entertainment solutions, the new S-Series systems are complete and compact, featuring integrated DVD/receiver units with a stylish remote, dual satellite speakers and high-performance subwoofers.
Denon S-301: No-Compromise Audio and Video Performance
In addition to its unprecedented capabilities in connecting digital portable digital music players, the Denon S-301 system is designed for total no-compromise audio and video, featuring state-of-the-art sound and image-enhancing technologies. Here are just a few of the technologies included in the S-Series.
· Universal DVD Player – Plays not only standard CDs and DVDs but also DVD-Audio and SACD discs.
· Dual discrete Analog Devices ADV-7310 12-bit/216MHz video D/A converters—one for the progressive scan video circuit and one for the interlaced circuit.
· Dolby Virtual Speaker for a full 5.1 surround sound performance from 2 satellite speakers and sub
· 192kHz/24-bit audio D/A converters
· An advanced Faroudja FLI2310 DCDi chipset
· HDMI digital video output with scaling (480p/720p/1080i), to HD resolution video.
Simplicity and Connectivity
Below are a few features that are included in the S-Series for ease-of-use and that allow connectivity with digital music players:
· Connection to Apple iPod that allows for control from Denon remote including iPod Photo units.
· Digital USB port for other digital music players or even USB Flash Drives. (S-301 only)
· Users can access all features and functions of the systems via the remote, the front panel controls or the intuitively designed onscreen interface.
· An easy onscreen ‘Help Menu’ gives users an alternative, yet simple way of interacting with the system.
· Only 5 wires needed to set-up the system and most have color coding for simplicity
· RS-232C port for third-party controllers (S-301 only, demonstrated in the CEDIA House)
