Q&A - DL-103R

I am interested to try this given what I have heard from others. How can I tell if this will fit my Mcintosh MT10 turntable.

Asked by: robert11
Hello robert11, The MT10 turntable uses a Moving Coil cartridge, just like the DL103-R. You will be fine in fit and function using this cartridge.

Hi, I am looking at the following 3 turntable, are they all compatible with the DL103R Mobile Fidelity Ultradeck, Clearaudio Concept, and VPI traveller Mk2? Thanks Nick

Asked by: johnwest
Hello Nick, After some research I found out what will work and what will not. The DL103R is a Moving Coil cartridge. The Mobile Fidelity is Moving Magnet. It will not work. Clearaudio Concept is Moving Coil. It will work. For the VPI I was not able to find anything to say what it used. You will have to get a hold of them to confirm.

Is the DL-103R a good match for the Rega Planar 6 (RB330) tonearm?

Asked by: tonedarms
Hello tonedarms, Yes, the DL-103R will be a good match for the Rega Planar 6. The only thing I recommend is a Phono Pre-amp like this one below. https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Ject-Audio-Phono-preamp-output/dp/B007DB5I60/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Hi, I'm confused about the specs of this cartridge. It's a high or low compliance? I'm trying to figure out if it will match with my thorens TP-16 isotrack arm. at 7.5 effective mass. Can anybody tell me if it's compatible? Thanks

Asked by: papalotes
Hello papalotes, The DL 103R is a low compliance cartridge. They will work together. There are a few articles out there about these two working together. It is something you can do.

Does a vintage Marantz 3250B have the senitivity and gain to use a DL103R in its MC input?

Asked by: TechSP25
Hello Tech SP25, No, but a separate Phono Pre-amp does. I like the Pro-ject Phono Box DC. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_252PBDCB/Pro-Ject-Phono-Box-DC-Black.html

What cartridge will work with my DP-59 turntable?

Hi Dr Lee. The DP-59 specifications suggest a cartridge between 3-14 grams. The DL-103R being at 8.5 grams sits comfortably in that range. This is a suitable cartridge for the DP-59.

Hi wonder if vincent POH-700 RIAA will it work with Denon DL-103r carrtidge

Asked by: Rave 416
I would have to suggest checking with the manufacturer of the phono preamp to make sure, but from what I can see this preamp is designed for both MC and MM type cartridges. The DL-103R is a moving coil cartridge and should be compatible.
