7.2 Channel Full 4K Ultra HD Network AV Receiver with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®

Overview

Surround yourself with immersive 3D sound: the Denon AVR-X3300W AV receiver features Dolby Atmos decoding for the ultimate home theater experience with the latest blockbuster movie soundtracks. And with a future firmware update, the AVR-X3300W will also decode DTS:X surround soundtracks, both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X featuring object-based surround sound with the ability to drive overhead or upward-firing speakers to deliver the ultimate immersive 3D audio experience.

The AVR-X3300W is also fully prepared for current and future high-resolution video formats: it's fully compatible with the latest HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 specifications on all eight of its HDMI inputs. With 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input, the AVR-X3300W is ready for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes and other 4K Ultra HD sources. It can even upscale existing standard and high definition analogue and digital video content to 4K Ultra HD, breathing new life into your favorite legacy sources when viewed on a 4K TV or projector.

Full wireless connectivity is provided - both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth -with dual antennas to ensure robust signal quality. You can stream your favourite music through AirPlay or Spotify Connect, or from local network storage drives, while high resolution audio formats all the way up to 192kHz/24-bit and DSD5.6MHz are fully supported to bring you even closer to the music.

The powerful amplifier section features discrete output devices on all channels, and all amp channels are configured identically. Rated at 105 watts (8 ohms, 0.08%THD, 20Hz~20kHz) and with high current drive, the AVR-X3300W has the ability to drive even demanding loudspeakers, down to 4 ohm impedance, on all channels.

With the AVR-X3300W's multi-room capability you can enjoy 2 different sources in different rooms at the same time, and despite all this flexibility, it's easy to control: the "Denon 2016 AVR Remote" app, for iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, is available from the Apple app store, Google Play, and the Amazon app store.

Dolby Atmos

Dolby's revolutionary Dolby Atmos technology dispenses with the channel-based surround sound coding used for decades, in favor of advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to place sounds precisely anywhere in the three-dimensional soundspace. Now you can enjoy this award-winning technology at home with the AVR-X3300W, which features the ability to connect a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and 2 additional overhead speakers or 2 additional Dolby Atmos-certified elevation speakers for the ultimate home theater experience.

DTS:X

The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X features similar object-based audio coding, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. (DTS:X will be enabled via future firmware update: for more info, please visit www.denon.com/dtsx)

The AVR-X3300W also features Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other Dolby Digital and DTS audio decoding and processing. This includes both Dolby Surround and Neural:X upmixing: users with a '3D' sound speaker set-up are able to get an enhanced surround experience from conventional Dolby- or DTS-encoded content, or even music in stereo, using the full set of speakers installed in the listening room.

DTS:X

High Resolution Audio

Discover the incredible fidelity of high resolution audio tracks with the AVR-X3300W's ability to decode up to 24-bit/192-kHz lossless files (AIFF, FLAC and WAV; ALAC/Apple Lossless to 24-bit/96kHz), as well as DSD 2.8MHz (the audiophile format of SACD) and now 5.6MHz tracks, too. Play them from memory devices via the front panel USB, or from network sources - the AVR-X3300W will also play lossy file types such as MP3..

DTS:X

Latest HDMI 2.0a Connectivity; HDCP 2.2 Compatible; ISF-Certified

Prepared for the future, with no fewer than eight HDMI inputs (including one conveniently located on the front panel) and dual HDMI outputs, the AVR-X3300W's advanced video section features the latest HDMI specifications, including 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input

It also features HDCP 2.2 compatibility, a requirement for 4K Ultra HD copy-protected content, ensuring ready for the next generation of Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes and other 4K Ultra HD sources.  In addition, the video processor can also upscale digital SD and HD video to 4K Ultra HD.

Certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, the AVR-X3300W features a full suite of video calibration controls (for use by an ISF technician), along with ISF Day and ISF Night video modes.

HDMI HDCP2.2

Built-in Bluetooth & Wi-Fi

Featuring Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless streaming connectivity, the AVR-X3300W is equipped with an advanced dual antenna system for robust and error-free streaming even in congested urban environments. Connected to the Internet through your home Wi-Fi network (or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port), it allows you to enjoy your favorite tracks from streaming music services such as Pandora, Spotify Connect and Sirius XM (depending on local availability). You can also choose from thousands of Internet radio stations from around the world, and enjoy music and speech entertainment of virtually every genre.
AirPlay lets you play your favorite tracks wirelessly from your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad, and via network streaming you can listen to  music files stored on your home PC or Mac, or NAS devices.
The all-new Denon 2016 AVR Remote App lets you control the AVR-X3300W with your smartphone or tablet: it's available for both Apple iOS and Android devices.

Denon 2016 AVR Remote

With the free "Denon 2016 AVR Remote" for iOS and Android, available from the Apple app store, Google Play or the Amazon app store, you can control the receiver's operation, as well as accessing its set-up menu, from a smartphone or tablet. The app also gives you quick access to the receiver's status display, option menus, Denon Blu-ray player control, and an online owner's manual for your convenience. Meanwhile the new queue management feature means you can browse and add new tracks to the playlist on the fly.

Powerful 7 Channel Discrete Amplifier with Eco Mode

Featuring high current discrete power output devices on all channels, the AVR-X3300W is rated at 105 watts per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz~20 kHz, 0.08% THD). And for compatibility with the widest range of loudspeaker models, the AVR-X3300W also has low impedance drive capability, to provide operational stability with speakers down to 4 ohms.
Denon's intelligent ECO mode adjusts power consumption according to signal level, and there's an on-screen Eco Mode display that lets you see in real time how much energy ECO mode is saving.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

A single subwoofer can give an uneven bass response at the main listening position, with audible peaks and dips. The AVR-X3300W provides for two subwoofers: positioned in different locations, they will even out the low frequencies, for more accurate bass anywhere in the listening area. It also provides Audyssey Sub EQ HT to give individual tailoring of each subwoofer via digital signal processing.

Smart TV Connectivity

Using the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) functionality provided on some Smart TVs, it's possible to control Denon receivers with the TV's remote handset. Set the receiver's "HDMI control" to ON, choose the "Smart Menu" receiver control functions on the TV, and the Smart Menu home screen allows direct access to a range of receiver functions including source and surround mode, the main setup menu, and the Quick Select 'one-touch' presets.

Advanced Audyssey DSP Technologies

The AVR-X3300W features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. Using the supplied measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes each speaker's output (including the subwoofers) at up to 8 measurement locations and generates precision digital filters that optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response. Audyssey Dynamic Volume smoothes out annoying jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels and still enjoy clear dialog, music and sound effects. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides precision tonal tailoring for full range clarity at any listening level.

Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup, for deeper bass and improved definition compared to a single subwoofer configuration.

Multi-Source/Multi-room

With the AVR-X3300W it's possible to enjoy 5.1-channel surround in one room, while another 'zone' plays another source - such as CD or streaming audio. You can simply connect a pair of stereo speakers to the multi-room amplified outputs. Or, connect a separate stereo amp and speakers to the Zone 2 pre-outs, allowing full 7 channel surround sound in the main room with stereo in the second. Or connect the 2nd zone via HDMI, using the AVR-X3300W's dual HDMI outputs.

Convenient USB Port

The convenient front panel USB port provides a digital connection from music from your iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, while also charging the device. You can also connect a USB drive and listen to files from MP3 all the way up to high resolution DSD (2.8/5.6 MHz), and FLAC lossless (up to 24-bit/192-kHz).

Color Coded 4-Way Speaker Terminals

The high quality speaker terminals feature multi-way connection capability to handle a number of speaker cable terminations including banana plugs. They're also color coded for correct hook-up, with matching color-coded labels for your speaker cables supplied.

Audyssey MultEQ Editor App

The latest Denon audio video products use Audyssey MultEQ for simple, accurate set-up and calibration of your system to the room in which it's used. But now you can go further with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, going "under the hood" to view and adjust settings for detailed tuning – allowing you to customize the sound more precisely to the specific problems in your room, and tailor the sound to your personal preferences. With this comprehensive app, you can harness the power of Audyssey MultEQ to take total control of the way your home cinema sounds.

This app will allow you to:

  • View the speaker detection results, to check correct installation.
  • View before and after results of the Audyssey calibration, making it easy to identify room problems.
  • Edit the Audyssey target curve for each channel pair to suit your tastes.
  • Adjust the EQ frequency adjustment range for each channel pair.
  • Switch between 2 high frequency rolloff target curves.
  • Enable/Disable midrange compensation to make the vocal region brighter or smoother.
  • Save and load calibration results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round! The sound of this product is really superb. Setting up is a synch. Having owned a Denon previously Iknew this was going to be a good experience for me as my old av is still going string after about 10 years. My only grapes is that I have a 7.1 system and wanted to add 2 Atmos speakers TI my setup. Unfortunately not enough connections to do this. Guess I'll have to upgrade to their top of the range to get this. All in all a great product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade! I upgraded from another very good receiver, the AVR2312, and I'm not disappointed! I have a 9.2 home cinema setup and the 3300W fits the requirements perfectly! In particular, I'm happy that the internet connectivity is quite a bit better and there is never any lag in searching for new radio stations and no breakup of the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement This replaced my AVR-1911. Being newer it has much better features and sound quality but retained it's familiar feel. It's very easy to change sound settings for films, music etc. and adjust volume on centre speaker for speech. Overall very pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent receiver I purchased this receiver a few months ago and I'm delighted with it! The sound quality is most impressive - everything sounds amazing, I listen to a lot of music, as well as TV and movies. It's features are great, such as WiFi, and bluetooth, as well as the ability to control the receiver with a phone app (that works most of the time). The guided setup was particularly good and made it all very easy. Overall highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound and build quality I bought this a month ago and am generally happy about my purchase. There are two niggles that I am hoping Denon will help me out with.

hi,  i have this unit, and when connecting ps4 via projector in zone 2, the signal audio is only stereo instead of pcm. how can i fix that?

Asked by: avis
Hi. Unless your zone 2 HDMI output is connecting to a surround receiver, the audio is going to be restricted to 2 channel stereo. If you want the audio to play on Zone 2 speakers running off the AVR speaker terminals, make sure you have changed the settings in the Zone 2 Setup, to set HDMI Audio to PCM. This will convert the HDMI audio signals to PCM so they can be played through the connected speakers.

Hello, can you tell me if this unit has a dedicated I/O for my record player. If not is there a way to connect the analog another way?

Asked by: TORR
The AVR-X3300W does not have a Phono input, but there are ways to connect a turntable to any analog input. Please see the FAQ at the link below for detailed information about connecting a turntable. Since this unit does not have a Phono input, you would want to skip down to scenario 2. Thanks! http://denon.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4044

Is there an option to stop the up conversion for BD only?

Asked by: lovemynewdenonx3300w
Hello. You can disable the I/P scaler in the video setup menu. This setting will only affect that source.

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with touch bar which has USB C ports and a Denon 3300 AVR. I will be using Tidal Masters on my MacBook Pro and I would like some recommendations on how to connect the macbook to the AVR For best hifi music results

Asked by: Ajesh
Hello Ajesh. Sorry to say that the AVR-3300W does not have a USB port which can be used to directly stream Hi-Res audio from a pc or macbook. The USB port is only able to play music files from a USB storage device. The best alternative would be to use an HDMI connection from the Macbook to the AVR-X3300W.

I just bought the Denon AVR X3300W a week ago. my Question is Can I use my Level connection on my subwoofer instead of my LFE connection? if yes where will I connect or plug it at the back of my receiver.

Asked by: xatchi
Hello. The AVR-X3300W does not have a speaker level connection to drive a passive subwoofer. It's designed to be used with a powered amplifier using the subwoofer pre-out. If you do have a passive subwoofer, you will need to purchase an external subwoofer amplifier to power it. The subwoofer pre-out on the AVR-X3300W would connect to the input of the subwoofer amp.

Can I play music in my zone 2 via an HDMI source? My Amazon FireTV only has an HDMI out and I often listen to Spotify or Amazon Music via the FireTV and would like the ability to listen to that music outside in my Zone 2 speaker setup (2 channel stereo)

Asked by: Bathel
Bathel, I can confirm that the function you're seeking does work, the one thing they wont tell you is that if you are playing a 5.1 source in the main zone, setting HDMI to PCM means that you no longer get discrete 5.1 in your main room if you want to hear sound in both zones. I've bought and sold 4 different Denon receivers trying to find one that doesn't operate this way but unfortunately they are all the same.
