9.2 Channel Full 4K Ultra HD Network AV Receiver with HEOS

Overview

Discover a whole new world of thrilling 3D surround sound with the Denon AVR-X4300H Network AV receiver, a premium 9.2-channel home theater receiver with discrete, identical amplifiers on each channel and 11.2 channel processing capability for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, plus optional Auro 3D.

The AVR-X4300H's advanced video section is fully compatible with the latest HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 specifications on all 8 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs: with 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through , it is ready for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes and other 4K Ultra HD sources. In addition, it can upscale standard and high definition analog and digital video to 4K Ultra HD, breathing new life into your existing video sources and content.

With its built-in HEOS technology, the AVR-X4300H can join or establish a HEOS wireless multi-room music network, enabling you to enjoy your favorite music anywhere and everywhere around your home. Share music to other HEOS devices, and explore, browse, and play music from your own music library, from online streaming music services, and from thousands of internet radio stations – all controlled using the simple, intuitive HEOS app.

Full wireless connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while Apple's Airplay is supported for simple wireless music streaming. High-resolution audio formats and playback are fully supported over network streaming for incredible fidelity. The powerful amplifier section features discrete output devices on all seven channels, each of which is configured identically and rated at 125 watts (8 ohms, 0.05%THD, 20Hz~20kHz), while its high-current design means the AVR-X4300H can even drive lower impedance 4 ohm speakers on all channels.

And you can control it from your smartphone or tablet using the free "Denon 2016 AVR Remote" app, available from the Apple app store, GooglePlay, and the Amazon app store.

HEOS Wireless Multi-Room Music Streaming, Controlled by Free HEOS App

Built-in HEOS technology allows the AVR-X4300H to become part of the HEOS wireless multi-room system, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music anywhere – and everywhere – around your home. Share music stored on your home network, Internet radio or streaming services with HEOS wireless speakers, or even other HEOS-capable receivers, throughout the house. And it's all controlled by the free HEOS app, installed on as many smartphones and tablets as you like! The app gives you instant multi-room audio control, meaning you can command music in every room from any device: play different music from different sources in every room, group several rooms together and play the same song. Learn more about the full HEOS line-up.

The HEOS app puts multiple streaming services in the palm of your hand, ready to play on your AVR or any devices on your HEOS network! Dolby Atmos

Dolby's revolutionary Dolby Atmos technology dispenses with the channel-based surround sound coding used for decades, in favor of advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to place sounds precisely anywhere in the three-dimensional soundspace. Now you can enjoy this award-winning technology at home with the AVR-X4300H, which features the ability to connect a 7.1 surround sound speaker system and 2 additional overhead speakers or Dolby Atmos-certified elevation speakers, or a 5.1 surround speaker system and 4 additional overhead or Dolby Atmos elevation speakers, for the ultimate home theater experience.

DTS:X

The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X features similar object-based audio coding, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. Even without Dolby Atmos or DTS:X encoded content, the AVR-X4300H supports both Dolby Surround and Neural:X upmixing technologies: users with a '3D' sound speaker set-up are able to get an enhanced surround experience from conventional Dolby - or DTS-encoded content, or even music in stereo, using the full set of speakers installed in the listening room.

DTS:X

Auro-3D Upgradeable

By fully immersing the listener in a cocoon of life-like sound, Auro-3D puts you right in the middle of the action. Auro-3D provides an immersive surround sound experience thanks to dedicated height and overhead channels, in addition to the regular channels. The height information, captured in recording or created during the mixing process, is mixed into a standard 5.1 PCM stream that comes with a regular Blu-ray. Moreover, the Auro-3D Engine combines different technologies to guarantee an optimum 3D sound experience generated both natively and from existing audio content. It recognizes mono, stereo, 5.1 surround or an Auro-encoded signal and transforms them into 3D audio. Once upgraded with the Auro-Codec decoder, the Denon AVR-X4300H is capable of decoding the original Auro-3D mix and playing back an Auro-3D 9.1 or 10.1 channel configuration (with external amplifier). Auro-3D Upgrade can be purchased for $199.

Latest HDMI 2.0a Connectivity; HDCP 2.2 Compatible; ISF-Certified

Prepared for the future, with no fewer than eight HDMI inputs (including one conveniently located on the front panel) and three HDMI outputs, the AVR-X4300H's advanced video section features the latest HDMI specifications, including 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input. It also features HDCP 2.2 compatibility, a requirement for 4K Ultra HD copy-protected content, ensuring ready for the next generation of Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes and other 4K Ultra HD sources. In addition, the video processor can also upscale analog and digital SD and HD video to 4K Ultra HD.

Certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, the AVR-X4300H features a full suite of video calibration controls (for use by an ISF technician), along with ISF Day and ISF Night video modes.

HDMI HDCP2.2 ISF

Denon Link HD, AL24 Processing Plus

The exclusive Denon Link HD system, available when the AVR-X4300H is used with a compatible Denon Blu-ray player, creates a high-accuracy digital link, with a dedicated connection for master clock data to eliminate distortion caused by jitter errors in the main audio datastream. Meanwhile AL24 Processing Plus – another exclusive Denon technology – provides ultra-high-resolution digital audio filtering and precision in the main (L/R) audio channels, to deliver music with outstanding high-frequency detail along with a smooth, natural midrange, creating a natural soundstage with enhanced imaging.

Powerful DSP

In order to properly handle the multitude of advanced digital audio decoding and processing functions, the AVR-X4300H features a sophisticated DSP audio processing system that incorporates no less than 4 powerful high speed fourth generation SHARC DSP processors, which together have a combined continuous processing capability of 10 GFLOPS (10 billion floating point numerical computations per second).

Built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AirPlay Capability

Featuring Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless streaming connectivity, the AVR-X4300H is equipped with an advanced dual antenna system for robust and error-free streaming even in congested urban environments. Connected to the Internet through your home Wi-Fi network (or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port), it allows you to enjoy your favorite tracks from streaming music services such as Spotify Connect. You can also choose from thousands of Internet radio stations from around the world, and enjoy music and speech entertainment of virtually every genre.

AirPlay lets you play your favorite tracks wirelessly from your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad, and via network streaming you can listen to music files stored on your home PC or Mac, or NAS devices.

Powerful 9 Channel Discrete Amplifier with ECO Mode

The AVR-X4300H features a sophisticated power amplifier section with all 9 channels configured identically, employing discrete high current capable power transistors. Each channel is rated at 125 watts (8 ohms, 20Hz~20kHz, 0.05%THD) and all channels are able to safely drive lower impedance speakers (down to 4 ohms). Denon's intelligent ECO mode adjusts power consumption according to signal level, and there's an on-screen Eco Mode display that lets you see in real time how much energy ECO mode is saving. Most remarkably, the 9 channel amplification allows for setting up a 7.1.2 or 5.1.4 3D experience without the need of an external amplifier. By the use of an external amplifier the setup can get extended to 7.1.4 as the AVR-X4300H features 11.2channel processing. If not in use for 3D audio the integrated amplifiers can get assigned to drive another pair of speakers in a second audio zone running a different source than the main room.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

A single subwoofer can give an uneven bass response at the main listening position, with audible peaks and dips. The AVR-X4300H provides for two subwoofers: positioned in different locations, they will even out the low frequencies, for more accurate bass anywhere in the listening area. It also provides Audyssey Sub EQ HT to give individual tailoring of each subwoofer via digital signal processing.

High Resolution Audio

Discover the incredible fidelity of high resolution audio tracks with the AVR-X4300H's ability to decode up to 24-bit/192-kHz lossless files (FLAC and WAV; ALAC/Apple Lossless to 24-bit/96kHz), as well as DSD 2.8MHz (the audiophile format of SACD) and now 5.6MHz tracks, too. Play them from memory devices via the front panel USB, or from network sources – the AVR-X4300H will also play lossy file types such as MP3 and WMA.

Denon 2016 AVR Remote

With the free "Denon 2016 AVR Remote" for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire, available from the Apple app store, Google Play or the Amazon app store, you can control the receiver's operation, as well as accessing its set-up menu, from a smartphone or tablet. The app also gives you quick access to the receiver's status display, option menus, Denon Blu-ray player control, and an online owner's manual for your convenience. Inside the app, you can switch instantly to the HEOS App to access an incredible level of control over your music contents and streaming services, blast full HEOS wireless multi-room control.

Most Advanced Audyssey Room Correction Suite

Equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of advanced DSP algorithms, the AVR-X4300H features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. With the supplied measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes each speaker's output (including the subwoofers) at up to 8 measurement locations and generates precision digital filters that optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smoothes out annoying jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels and still enjoy clear dialog, music and sound effects. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides precision tonal tailoring for full range clarity at any listening level. Audyssey Low Frequency Containment uses advanced psychoacoustic algorithms to deliver a full range tonal balance, including deep bass, but without disturbing close-by neighbors or family members in other rooms, and features a multi-step adjustment that lets you dial in the amount of containment to your preference.

Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup, for deeper bass with improved definition, compared to a single subwoofer configuration.

Audyssey MultEQ Editor App

The latest Denon audio video products use Audyssey MultEQ for simple, accurate set-up and calibration of your system to the room in which it's used. But now you can go further with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, going "under the hood" to view and adjust settings for detailed tuning – allowing you to customize the sound more precisely to the specific problems in your room, and tailor the sound to your personal preferences. With this comprehensive app, you can harness the power of Audyssey MultEQ to take total control of the way your home cinema sounds.

This app will allow you to:

  • View the speaker detection results, to check correct installation.
  • View before and after results of the Audyssey calibration, making it easy to identify room problems.
  • Edit the Audyssey target curve for each channel pair to suit your tastes.
  • Adjust the EQ frequency adjustment range for each channel pair.
  • Switch between 2 high frequency rolloff target curves.
  • Enable/Disable midrange compensation to make the vocal region brighter or smoother.
  • Save and load calibration results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade from Denon 4100 I purchased this brand new 4300H from Fry's with discount replacing Denon 4100. It's worth more than every penny. There are three major improvements, 4K video on 4K LG TV, 4K sound with Atmos setup and soud playing music via Bluetooth. In general, the sound is much clear and fuller than before. I'm very happy with the upgrade. The remote, the setup and calibration are about tbe same as 4100. iOS app is not fully functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flexible Powerhouse with HEOS Integration I plugged this AVR directly inot my wireless router to support streaming better. The unit has a much better GUI (graphical user interface) than my old reciever, which speeds setup, and makes it easier. The unit automatically selects the surround sound mode when watching movies, which is just plain awesome. The sound quality is very, very good (IMHO, not as good as my former NAD receiver, but good enough for today's content). I love the ability to play music using the HEOS app from my iPhone. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for money Just got this receiver for about a week now and am very happy with it. I sold my old Pioneer receiver and at first bought a new Pioneer Atmos receiver. The new Pioneer was disappionting. After returning i bought this one. What a beast is this, great power and very good sound quality with also very good sound effects and easy to use and with good looks. Only con is it's getting pretty hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bang for the Buck Bought this Denon to replace a Yamaha at the core of my family room TV home theater. While upgrades are never quick, we upgraded speakers (Bose) and receiver fairly quickly. But the best thing is that the sound is excellent. I highly recommend this receiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BIG BANG FOR THE BUCK The 4300 is an awesome device, I am pre-amping the two fronts and letting the Denon breath with the rest of the set up 7.1. One issue I am having and it is not Denon's fault is that I am using a Roku ultra that is fighting against all other devices, if I tried to switch to other inputs like Blu-ray player, CD etc it would jump back to the Roku, really annoying. I was forced to pull it out and connect it straight to the TV.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Assumed 9.2 specs applied to hers speakers. Promotes 9.2 surround sound with hers connectivity. After getting 6 heos speakers, find that hers speakers do not support surround sound but only 2 channel stereo, and even then you can't select which speaker is left or right channel. What is the point of buying this if the heos connectivity won't support surround sound--and why isn't this made clear in the description. I wasted over $2000 on wireless speakers expecting to get surround sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3d sound purchased this to up date my Intregra receiver. and to install the auro 3d sound. set up is very easy, almost does it for you. sound seperation is very good. not quit as warm sounding as the Intregra. but still good. very clear. i have to say, Dolby Atmos was the right idea, but the wrong implementation. try this with direct height speakers. nice. i am using a 5.1.4 setup.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It Ok Sound. For what it is it's ok. We live in a throw away point in time. The old Denon is way better the new Denon is throw away, it's not good or bad it's ok. How many times you have to be told don't believe in everything you read online? Well this is it.

I'm currently using all 9 amps in my AVR-X4300H in a 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos configuration for movies in the Main Room. Is it possible to run 7.1 in the Main Room and 2 speakers in Zone 3 using all 9 amps in a Multi Channel Stereo Mode?

Asked by: Mike a
Never mind, I figured it out.

Can I connect this receiver to a 7-channel and a 5-channel amplifier simultaneously to achieve 11.2 setup? These amplifiers are namely Outlaw model 7125 and 5000.

Asked by: bateo102
Hello. It is possible to use external amplifiers to achieve 11.2. This can be done using a combination of external amplifiers and built-in amplifiers, or by using all external amplifiers. Please see the Amp Assign section of the user manual at the link below for details about using this configuration. Thanks! http://manuals.denon.com/AVRX4300H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php

Does the AVR-X4300H support wireless headphones? How does this work?

Asked by: aholbrook51
Hello. The AVR-X4300H, as well as the rest of our Bluetooth enabled line of AVR's, does not support wireless headphones. The Bluetooth function only receives audio from devices, and does not transmit audio. If you use an external Bluetooth transmitter, you could try connecting it to the Zone 2 pre-outs, and set the main zone audio to All Zone Stereo, by pressing the Option button.

Can I plug in 2 LFE supported subwoofers in a 5.2.4 atmos configuration with this receiver.

Asked by: JayRindge
Yes. The AVR-X4300H supports various 9.2 configurations, including 5.2.4. This will be configured in the Amp Assign menu by selecting 9.1 with a 5 channel floor layout and 4 height speakers. Please see the link below for Amp Assign settings. Thanks! http://manuals.denon.com/AVRX4300H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php

Is this receiver compatible with Samsung 4k TVs? I had problems before when trying to upgrade resolution of inputs to 4K which leads to lots of flickering.

Asked by: Hooked on 4K
Yes, our receivers are absolutely compatible with Samsung 4k TV's. In fact, there are no TV's out there that we have actually documented a true compatibility issue with, some are just more quirky than others. If you had flickering video, this could be an HDMI communication issue resulting from bad HDMI cables, cables that are too long, or other factors. You may not see issues with lower resolutions because it's less demanding, so imperfect/defective cables may still work well with lower resolutions, only to encounter issues when playing 4k/HDR content. If you continue to have trouble, the best thing is to contact customer support at the link below to troubleshoot. Thanks! https://usa.denon.com/us/support/home

I just purchased this receiver. I have 7.1 in-ceiling speakers (2 front, 1 center, 2 mid, 2 surround, 1 sub). What would be an ideal speaker setting to use?

Asked by: Tejash
This sounds like a standard 7.1 configuration, which is the default setting. You shouldn't have to change anything. Just connect your speakers, then run the Audyssey calibration, and you should be all set. Just in case it's been changed, the correct amp assign setting is "7.1 CH + Zone 2". Please see the link below for reference. Thanks! http://manuals.denon.com/AVRX4300H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php

I am buying Sony xbr75x900e HDR TV.   Can I run the video cable thru the receiver and not lose the HDR content?

Asked by: Tim B1
The AVR-X4300H supports HDR. If you connect your HDR sources to it, it will pass those signals through to your TV.
