Dolby Atmos

Dolby's revolutionary Dolby Atmos technology dispenses with the channel-based surround sound coding used for decades, in favor of advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to place sounds precisely anywhere in the three-dimensional soundspace. Now you can enjoy this award-winning technology at home with the AVR-X6300H, which features the ability to connect a 7.1 surround sound speaker system and 4 additional overhead speakers or Dolby Atmos-certified elevation speakers for the ultimate home theater experience.

DTS:X

The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X features similar object-based audio coding, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. Even without Dolby Atmos or DTS:X encoded content, the AVR-X6300H supports both Dolby Surround and Neural:X upmixing technologies: users with a '3D' sound speaker set-up are able to get an enhanced surround experience from conventional Dolby - or DTS-encoded content, or even music in stereo, using the full set of speakers installed in the listening room.

DTS:X

Auro-3D Upgradeable

By fully immersing the listener in a cocoon of life-like sound, Auro-3D puts you right in the middle of the action. Auro-3D provides an immersive surround sound experience thanks to dedicated height and overhead channels, in addition to the regular channels. The height information, captured in recording or created during the mixing process, is mixed into a standard 5.1 PCM stream that comes with a regular Blu-ray. Moreover, the Auro-3D Engine combines different technologies to guarantee an optimum 3D sound experience generated both natively and from existing audio content. It recognizes mono, stereo, 5.1 surround or an Auro-encoded signal and transforms them into 3D audio. Once upgraded with the Auro-Codec decoder, the Denon AVR-X6300H is capable of decoding the original Auro-3D mix and playing back an Auro-3D 9.1 or 10.1 channel configuration. Auro-3D Upgrade can be purchased for $199.

Latest HDMI 2.0a Connectivity; HDCP 2.2 Compatible; ISF-Certified

AVR-X6300H Best Buy Award
“The remote app has recently had an upgrade and it now operates in conjunction with the HEOS app, allowing you to move seamlessly from one to the other. This is a nice touch, allowing you to easily control all the functions on your X6300H using the remote app, with all the buttons you need sensibly laid out. However, if you want to use the receiver as part of the HEOS multiroom system then you just switch into the HEOS app and then control all the online functions as well as all the devices connected to the HEOS network. It's all very slick and very impressive.”

AVR-X6300H Home Cinema Choice Best Buy Award
"I'd forgotten the visual and sonic feast of 'House of Flying Daggers' and the AVR-X6300H brought a thoroughly modern upgrade to this elegantly-styled 2004 Chinese martial arts classic, particularly when opting to add 11-channel DTS Neural:X processing to the native DTS 5.1 mix....It adds a gloriously three-dimensional presence to the piece. I can't think why you would not engage 11-channel Neural:X or Dolby Surround irrespective of the native mix - it really is that good. The Denon's upfront and articulate balance shines through stereo music, delivering detail and clarity in buckets. A technical tour de force, brilliantly intuitive to use and bringing sparkling 11-channel surround sound to pretty much any movie, Denon's AVR-X6300H is proof of the Atmos/DTS:X pudding even without native 11-channel ingredients. It's crisp, layered sound is a great sonic upgrade for Dolby Digital DVDs upwards..."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best yet I bought the 6300H in December. Replacing my Yamaha dap-z9, which was a beast. So it had some very big shoes to fit into. This was difficult and has pretty much offered everything I required in a AV receiver. My set up is a 7.1.4 Dolby atmos. I have even purchased the aura 3D as well. I using a Sony 4K projector and now have sky Q. A few issues with UHD compatibility with the sky, as receiver doesn't always pick up the sky as it is out putting 4K resolution. Otherwise great. Heos is also great and the 2nd zone has been useful. Highly recommend. I have already recommended to a couple of friends, whom now also own a similar receiver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid performer, has ATMOS support Good performer, ATMOS works well. Was disappointed to have to pay about $150 extra for Aora 3D as soon as I bought it - without being able to try out. Couldn't tell difference really. Don't see big difference overall from my X4000 - even power doesn't seem that much more and I have it up close to full volume. Can't seem to work out how to boost central channel which comes out too quiet after Audessey set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features from an amazing product! I bougth this AVR before 3 months ago, 12 / 2016, and my choice was more than excellent. What can I say, great sound, setup, dolby atmos feature and Auto 3D disks are playing very good with my Dali opticon 6, and peripheral speakers also. Best choice who those want an excellent AVR with HEOS function and 11.2 setup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fully featured, but underpowered... If you use Heos and want a one-box 7.2.4 system this is it, but be prepared to be underwhelmed by power output. Something had to give to get 11 channels in one box ..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comprehensive features, powerful for small rooms The system is nice to setup, and provides a good 7.1.4 system. If you get the Atmos speakers in the right place, it works like a dream, and sounds good. My setup is in a small room and seems sufficiently powerful (up to 60db). Spotify connect is a minor feature, but important.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A winner from Denon The usb and playing Flac and other high quality music has been a problem for me. It's not enough to say your ex.drive should be fat 32 there is more to it than that and i would have liked very detailed info to play Flac and help me understand what i needed to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good amp with nice features. Overall the Denon is okay and it sounds fine. I prefer the sound of my old Yamaha though. The one problem I have with it though is how hot it is when running (radiator) and the on-screen menu is not intuitive.

Hi my question is is there any way to see what the audio signal is for instance it just says doby digital but not 5.1 my other receivers would give me the channel count ad well. Also it would tell me the video such as 1080p input 4k output.

Asked by: Melvin
Hi Melvin. You can see information about the input signal by pressing the INFO button on the remote control. You can get more detailed information, including video input signal, through the setup menu. I have read more than one review that mentions a MB & or firmware issue in the 6300H seemingly while using Audyssey &or in DTS:X mode. Nov.of 2016 "purchase date most listed" for this. Your pro opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Asked by: Chance
This was an uncommon issue, which was addressed in a firmware update. This is not an issue you should encounter with this receiver.

I have a X4300H and bought the Auro 3D license for it. If I purchase the X6300H can I transfer the Auro 3D license from the 4300 or do I have to buy a new one? I'm willing to delete it from the 4300.

Asked by: Scottg
Hi Scottg. Auro 3D Licenses are not transferable. Each receiver will require it's own license, and it can't be removed from one receiver to be credited toward an upgrade on a different receiver.

I'm really interested in the X-6300H. However its a bit too big for my consol, secfically about 1/4 inch in terms of depth.  My question is: can I replace the volume and input dials with something sleeker? Will there be any ventilation issues?

Hello. We don't offer alternate knobs and don't have a recommended 3rd party replacement. If there is not much space for the unit in the cabinet, there likely isn't enough space for proper ventilation, which can cause the receiver to overheat. It would be best to find another place to put the unit where it will have at least a few inches on all sides.

My current speaker setup for 11.2 uses two front height, two front wide, two side rear, and two back rear. Is this setup possible with the X6300H?

Unfortunately Front Wide channels are no longer supported. I would recommend moving those speakers to another height channel for Atmos.

Is there set of mounting brackets that can be use for a rack installation?

Yes, there is a rack mount kit available, which can be ordered through any authorized dealer. The model number is RMR3313. It's not an item dealers often keep in stock, but they can usually order it for you.

The AVR-X6300H has plenty of power and should have no problem with a large room at reasonable volume levels. Performance does also depend on the speakers though. The more efficient/sensitive the speakers, the louder they will be with less effort on the amp. For example, a speaker with 85dB efficiency will need more power to sound as loud as a speaker with 95dB.
