Our brand new app for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire will give you an unprecedented level of command and control over your network-ready Denon AV Receivers*. Most remarkably, the clever Queue management now makes it possible to browse your music library while listening to your favorite songs. Selected tracks (one or a whole album) can set to “Play Now”, “Play Next” or “Add to end of the Queue” and even more options are available. Powerful 7 Channel Discrete Amplifier with Eco Mode

Featuring high current discrete power output devices on all channels, the AVR-S920W delivers high power and is rated at a maximum of 185 watts per channel. There's also an Auto Eco mode that adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level as well as an on-screen Eco meter that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time.

For compatibility with the widest range of loudspeakers the AVR-S920W is equipped with low impedance drive capability that provides operational stability with 4 ohm speakers.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

The AVR-S920W features dual subwoofer outputs, which lets you connect two smaller subwoofers instead of a single larger sub, and enjoy the benefits of response averaging by having two subs in different locations in the room. With dual subwoofers, deep bass is smoother and more detailed, minimizing the peaks and dips that often result with a single subwoofer setup.

Smart TV Connectivity

When you connect the AVR-S920W to your Smart TV you have the option of controlling the AVR-S920W via the HDTV's remote control which lets you select an input, adjust the volume and choose the surround sound mode.

Audyssey Bronze Built-In

Denon was the first AV manufacturer to embrace Audyssey's advanced DSP audio processing, and the AVR-S920W features the Audyssey Bronze suite of powerful DSP features, including MultEQ room acoustic measurement and DSP correction. Via the supplied measuring microphone and mic stand, Audyssey MultEQ measures all the speakers in your home theater during setup, including the subwoofer, and then generates multiple high precision DSP room acoustic correction filters which together provide smoothest and most natural tonal balance, regardless of the brand or model of the various speakers.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume features advanced psycho-acoustic processing to deliver clear dialog and wide range sound at reduced volume levels so that you can enjoy theater-level clarity at whatever listening level you choose. Audyssey Dynamic EQ also features advanced DSP processing to deliver full range wide-band response even at reduced volume levels.

Audyssey MultEQ Editor App

The latest Denon audio video products use Audyssey MultEQ for simple, accurate set-up and calibration of your system to the room in which it's used. But now you can go further with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, going "under the hood" to view and adjust settings for detailed tuning – allowing you to customize the sound more precisely to the specific problems in your room, and tailor the sound to your personal preferences. With this comprehensive app, you can harness the power of Audyssey MultEQ to take total control of the way your home cinema sounds.

This app will allow you to:

  • View the speaker detection results, to check correct installation.
  • View before and after results of the Audyssey calibration, making it easy to identify room problems.
  • Edit the Audyssey target curve for each channel pair to suit your tastes.
  • Adjust the EQ frequency adjustment range for each channel pair.
  • Switch between 2 high frequency rolloff target curves.
  • Enable/Disable midrange compensation to make the vocal region brighter or smoother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Sound easy to setup Good sound. Many features for the price, for instance 8 HDMI and they are all 4k. The Audyssey does a better job than the other brand receivers room acoustic algorithms perform. This is one of the reasons I went with Denon. The setup assist is also useful. Would only like to know how close to reaching the limits with all channels driven.. None of the manufacturers are informing the buyer in on this bit of information. If you go the route of a preamp and amplifier then they supply watts per channel all driven. Best you can do with supplied ratings on these integrated home theater receivers is take the one channel driven spec and divide by how many channels you will hookup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good receiver, not so good cust support I purchased this to replace my Onkyo 705. So far, I love the sound, great audio quality. The only issue I have is when switching from 4K on Directv to a HD chanel, all I get is snow for a picture. This is resolved when I switch the source on the remote control and back to the original source, that solves the issue. I had sent Denon an email, but have had no response! I also do have the newest, high quality HDMI cables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup, great sound! I upgraded from another receiver that was 8 years old and blown away with the features now available with WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth. I had one small hiccup with the Online Music, Radio and Bluetooth not recognized however after a bit of searching on the Denon web page I found out how to do a "Reset System" and all is well now and enjoying every minute. (To reset, press Tuner+ and Tuner- and Power button.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Set up problems Had problems setup speakers. I have speakers in the ceiling 5.1 surround sound. Unable to adjusted each speaker.
Date published: 2016-12-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!!! After a lot of research, this was my pick. It does it all. And so easy to use! This was an upgrade for my old, out of date, hard to use receiver of a different brand.

This is probably a dumb question.. but does the S920W automatically upscale non 4K content? I didn't see anything in the settings indicating that it does.

Asked by: Phil4429
The AVR-S920W does upscale content to the TV's supported resolution, up to 4k. This can be disabled by turning off I/P Scaler in the setup menu under Video > Output Settings. Please see the link below for reference. Thanks! http://manuals.denon.com/AVRS920W/NA/EN/GFNFSYmlxuhedk.php

Hi Markw. Yes, it's possible to connect a turntable if it has a built in phono preamp, or if you have an external phono preamp. Please see the FAQ at the link below for more help with connecting the turntable. Thanks! http://denon.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4044

I have the same problem as mentioned in a review above with DirecTV 4k Genie (C61K-700).  White noise when switching from 4k to any other resolution. To fix this, I have to change to a different channel again to clear it up.  HDMI direct to TV works fine

UPDATED: Disabled the UHD "Deep Color" feature on my LG OLED65BP TV and all now works normally. This was interfering with the HDMI synch for some reason when switching resolutions.

what is the code I need to program AVR-S920W to a different remote

Asked by: robinO
Hi robinO. Unfortunately programming a remote control isn't quite that simple. The short answer is "I'm sorry but we can't provide a code to make your remote operate our receiver." Since this is something there tends to be some confusion about, I'll explain why. Every remote control command, such as power on, volume up, volume down, source select, etc., are each controlled by a specific infra red frequency, which the remote control outputs when you press the corresponding button, and the receiver responds accordingly. When a remote control does have a code to operate a device, it's because all of those infra red command frequencies for the product have been stored in the remote control's memory, along with command sets for many other products. The manufacturer of that remote assigns a code to each, which activates that command set, enabling the remote to operate the device. When you see the code list for your remote control, each code you see represents a command set that's already stored in the remote control's memory. That said, when you don't see a code, there's a very good chance that it's because the commands aren't preset in the remote, and it won't be able to control the device. These codes are set by the manufacturer of the remote, and no two remotes (by different manufacturers) have the same codes for the same products. This is why we unfortunately are not able to provide the code to make your remote operate our receiver. You can contact the manufacturer of the remote to find out if they have any Denon AVR codes, but if they don't then unfortunately the remote simply won't operate our product. I hope you found this answer helpful. Thanks!

My speakers are in one room and my amp will be in another; can I use a plain old mono mini plug cable to extend the length of the calibration microphone cable? I need to run about 80 feet to reach the listening area.

Asked by: iruj
Hello. It's not recommended to extend the Audyssey mic cable by more than 25 feet. Extending over 25 feet will begin to have an impact on the accuracy of the calibration. The best thing to do is set the receiver up temporarily in the listening area in order to run the Audyssey calibration, then move it to it's permanent location when finished.

I am noticing that I get no volume display on the screen with 4k sources. Is there any way to correct this?

Asked by: Natai
Hi Natai. Because there is no video processing on 4k sources, the AVR is not able to superimpose on screen display. This is normal operation.

Will the AV receiver AVR-S920W, hooked up to output to a 4K UHD TV with Dolby Vision and receiving inputs from 4K UHD Dolby Vision Sources such as a Dolby Vision UHD Blu Ray be able to pass through the Dolby Vision signals to the TV?

Asked by: Rajan
Our current AVR models support HDR10, but do not support Dolby Vision. At this time we haven't yet announced plans to support Dolby Vision.

Suddenly my zone 2 no longer works when using anything via Airplay(spotify or itunes) also it turns on my main zone and only plays in the 5.1 when I try and play the zone 2 from that source. Has been working great until friday. Any ideas?

Asked by: Natenash
If you start audio playback in the main zone first, then select Online Music as your zone 2 source, you should still be able to play Airplay or Spotify in Zone 2. Once playing in Zone 2 you can change the main zone source and audio will continue to play in Zone 2. If you can no longer get these online music sources to play in zone 2, but they do play in the main zone, you may want to contact customer support at the link below to troubleshoot.
